Lee Clark

Trombone


Lee Clark has been trombonist with the LR Wind Symphony since 2006, with a few years away during that time. He was trombonist with the Arkansas Orchestra Society (predecessor of the ASO) and was the bass trombonist with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra from 1973-1981. He is a former member of the Quapaw Brass Quintet and a current member of the North Little Rock Community Concert Band. He also enjoys playing euphonium.
 
Lee spent 34 years as school band director, with 33 of those in the Pulaski County Special District. He is a Past President and Honorary Member of the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association and is an Honorary Member of Phi Beta Mu, an honorary band masters’ fraternity. He served as Adjunct Low Brass instructor at Hendrix College during the 2014-2015 school year.
 
Lee began playing trombone at Lakewood Elementary School in North Little Rock and is a graduate of North Little Rock High School. He received the Bachelor of Arts Degree in music from Arkansas Tech University and the Master of Music Degree in trombone performance and conducting from Northwestern University. His trombone teachers include H.H. (Herb) Hasket, Dr. William R. Haskett, Jack Zimmerman, Robert Bright, Andy Anders, and Frank Crisafulli.
