Shannon ClardyShannon Thornton Clardy, a native of The Colony, Texas, has been an oboist in the LR Winds since 2004. She has bachelor’s degrees in music performance and physics from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and has a doctorate of applied physics from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

 

Clardy is an Assistant Professor of Physics and Adjunct Professor of Oboe at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, where she regularly performs with ensembles at HSU. She has performed under many notable conductors, including Frederick Fennell, Andrew Litton, Eduardo Mata, Keri-Lynn Wilson, H. Robert Reynolds, Gary Garner and Richard Giangiulio.
